Due to the popularity of our events and activities, Troop B operates a waiting list. Whilst priority is always given to those moving up from 1st Hersham Cubs (who have a guaranteed space at Scouts) we are sometimes able to take additional members and these places are allocated first come, first served in order of joining the waiting list.
To submit your details to the waiting list, click the link below and complete the form. This is the only way you can join our waiting list. Please note that:
- We’ll be back in touch within a couple of weeks to confirm receipt and give you an idea of a possible joining window – please note this could be several months away or more.
- The minimum age when joining the waiting list is 9. If your child is younger than this, please return to this page once they are 9 years old. The earliest someone can actually join the Troop is their 10th birthday.
- Children aged 13 and over will have a limited time in the Troop (the maximum age for a Scout is 14.5), although you are still welcome to apply. For this reason we can’t accept anyone who is already 14 years old – however we are happy to put you in touch with our friends at K2 Explorer Scout Unit (for young people aged 14-18), just drop us a line via the contact page.
We’re currently operating at full capacity, and waiting times on our waiting list are approximately 18-24 months. We are therefore unlikely to be able to offer a place to anyone who is 11 years or older when joining the list – so you may wish to contact alternative local groups. We’ll update this page if the situation changes.
You can find contact details for other Scout Troops in our area on the Walton & Weybridge District website.
We’ll hold the details you submit electronically for the purposes of administering our waiting list. If your details change after submitting the form, or you’d like to leave the waiting list and for us to delete the information you submitted, please get in touch via the contact page rather than submitting the form again.
Interested in helping out?
We’re always pleased to hear from parents who would be willing to help us run our Troop, whether it’s helping out at meetings or activities or on one of the many behind-the-scenes tasks we have to complete such as admin, fundraising and so on. If you’re interested please make a note on the waiting list form (this doesn’t commit you to anything) or if you’d prefer, get in touch directly via the contact page. Children of leaders and helpers at any part of 1st Hersham Scout Group are prioritised on the waiting list.
