Survival Special Back to basics - October 2002 As seen in the eyes of Lewis: Scout Survival Special (The windiest weather for 15 years didn’t stop us!) Ever eaten a worm omelette? We have! Ever slept in a special scout designed cardboard shelter in the middle of a forest? We have! Ever dug your own toilets? But then used the nice real ones! We have! Ever spent time learning safety with axes and saws? And including SOS signals in the forest! (Richard knows how to blow his whistle!) We have! Ever cooked all your whole weekend’s food for every meal over a huge fire? We have! Ever gutted a fish then cooked it yourself in leaves in the fire for Sunday lunch? We have! Then we cleared it all up so it looked like we had never been there and went home. A real Ray Mears moment! (Try saying that fast!)
