GRAND PRIXMAS

How better to round off 2003 than a massive
indoor karting extravaganza?

[The future of Formula 1?]December 2003

Minibus in the Mist
Driving a minibus at fifteen miles per hour along a main carriageway because you literally can't see anything is never the best. Still, at least they have lots of roundabouts in Andover.

Andover Air Scouts
Another band of heroes provide luxurious accommodation for Troop B. A very swish HQ indeed that we'd like to buy off them - probably the best we've stayed in.

Games and Relays
Bizarrely fun times were had playing our usual games and having a fitness relay in the Scout HQ - which went some way to ensuring the scouts slept well that night.

[Starting grid]Karting Extravaganza
We hit one of the UK's premier indoor karting circuits in Andover for four and a half hours of karting. This consisted of full safety briefing, practise session then the race to end all races (lasting almost three hours!)

Champions
Obviously the leaders teams finished first and second, though the chequered flag was taken by PL Andrew F., who was setting the standard in winning team no. 7. Top scouts team was no.6 featuring Lewis R., Grant, James G., James C. and Peter C.

[The final hairpin]The scouts put in some performances that Eddie Irvine would have been proud of and are sure to be lighting up the circuits on the international agenda in years to come.

Right, what can the leaders rule in next?
